I just bought the Asus Z170 programming motherboard and built a brand-new computer with a bunch of other parts like a i7 and GeForce 1080. My PC works amazingly except my Ethernet connection does not work. I have no internet at all. I have done the basic things such as switching the cables out restarting my Internet and more basic things like that. The LED lights up in the back saying that it is connected to the motherboard. I just don't know what's worng :(

5th here. The Network Adapter driver may not be installed or not the right driver. Check the Device Manager and see if the Network Adapter driver icon has a yellow exclamation mark icon over it, and what it says in the General tab > Device Status description.

Your driver options are:

1. The motherboard disk,

2. the motherboard product page > Support > Downloads.
you'll need another computer to download this driver. And if you don't have another computer available, a dual boot Windows installation would be an option to access the Internet and download the driver. A diferent Windows version would be preferable but if that's not an option, the same OS in dual boot may not have the same issue.
