so i've bought a 980ti hybrid a couple of months ago and it all went very well until a few days ago, i was enjoying my gaming sessions with little fan noise of the card.

But then, I was gaming when suddenly the fan of the card was going CRAZY, and i really mean crazy loud. So I turned the pc off immediately because i was afraid that it might explode (lol) it was really that crazy loud.

I then installed GPU Z to monitor my card, the next time it happened the peak was 95 degrees temperature celcius and 5330 RPM. In this state my frames drop drastically, this endures for like 30secs and then the card "recovers". A few minutes later it happens again then.. so any one got an idea what the heck is going on here?

cheers

I did not clean the PC recently (actually never did lol), i once just blew air in the fan after it started to become very loud. The thing is I only have one fan, the GTX 980TI Hybrid is passive (and water) cooled. So if the fan would be broken, how would I be able to still play games?

I can't say weather it will still play games, because the other fan is there for a reason, you would have to keep an eye on your temperatures of the card while you play. you should try RMA is to get it replaced before you have to pay out of your own pocket for another card if this doesn't work on liquid cooling alone

Yes, depending on angle, and distance from fan as you blow at it. It may break. the first burst of air is pretty strong1
