My Windows 7 Ultimate Machine suddenly stopped making system Restore points. Not only that it deleted the ones that were there. I have no idea why this happened I made no changes to my system that would cause this. Anybody have any experience that could explain this behavior? And how to fix it.

I've got 22GB allocated for Restore Points and I have plenty of space available (50-60 GB on my SSD)

I looked in event viewer to see if I could find the Event IDs they listed in the first article but discovered there's really no way of finding that out without literally going through each entry since there's no way to search in the event viewer.
HOW RETARDED IS THAT. So I went looking for an alternative to windows event viewer for viewing the logs being created by windows I found some alternatives but haven't had time to download and try them yet.

These are really addressing a different issue than mine also. My restore points are not being deleted when I reboot and there are a couple in there but there used to be half a dozen to a dozen and now they're all gone except 2.

And btw I didn't change anything that would have caused this. I mean NOTHING. It's been working fine for a year and a half since I set up this machine and all of a sudden this completely inexplicable change. I don't use hibernation and my page file is only a gig since I really don't need to use one having 32GB of RAM I just have it because some programs are touchy about NO pagefile even though they would never need to use it. I'm not running a dual boot setup. etc etc. In other words not applicable.

But thanks for the effort.
