Wireless adapter slow

Doing a speed test i get significantly slower speeds on computer. I'm using a AC1750 Edimax wireless adapter reading 3Mbps where if im in same spot my phone reads 62 Mbps ... why is it not the same?

The issue was I was running some sort of program at startup (for the mobo) and it was somehow affecting the transfer rate that the adapter was transferring at.
