I just recently bought the Neewer NW-700 Condenser microphone and Neewer 48v Phantom Power. I already plugged in the XLR to XLR cable into the input and the XLR to 3.5mm into the output then into my computer. When I turn on the Phantom Power supply my microphone sounds exactly the same as if it's off. Do I need to have a Sabrent USB Sound Card? I'm currently just plugging in the 3.5mm jack into the microphone port on my computer.

Solution
You might have fried your audio codec if you fed phantom power directly into the 3.5mm mic port! For best results you should really have an XLR USB ADC, but at that point it would have been cheaper just to buy a USB condenser
