Is the Corsair cx600m good enough for an i5-4460 and GTX 1080?

i'm fully aware it's not a quality PSU, but it's all i have at the moment. i've been using it without any issues for over a year so i know it's atleast not as bad as they can be...

anyways, is it good enough for my system?

The CX600m is not one of the newer/better CXMs, the new ones have not been out for a year and they also end with a 50(CX550M and CX650m for example). The new CXM are also not 100% Japanese caps, they use a Nippon Chemi-con(Japanese) primary, but the secondary side is Samxon(Chinese) and Su'scon(Taiwanese).
Yes it will be.
The CXM series are great value PSUs actually, they are a heavily modified updated CX series with Japanese capacitors and a multi-rail design, you'll have no problems. ;)
You can run that system with a 500w realistically, although 550w is probably safer.

It'll run, the CXs are not really known for damaging parts. Their main problem is they will start to shutdown when under load and the problems usually start around the 1 year make, but I have seen some that lasted longer before the issues started.

Ah, right, I forgot about the older CXMs, i've been caught up in using it as a new budget PSU, because it's something that actually competes with the GB Bronze platform for once. ;)
I should have read it over, I didn't notice because it was all in lower case! xD
My bad.
The CXm series is decent enough, you'll be perfectly fine until you can afford an upgrade lest you encounter any issues under higher load.
