Will the Intel core Q6600 run best on Wndows 7 or Windows 10?

So i have one chance of choosing which system i wold like to run on my old test Pc. It has 8gb ddr2 ram, q6600 2,4ghz and a 9800gt. I just want to know, will it be best to run windows 7 on this system, or windows 10? in terms of performance. I have heard that the q6600 runs bad on windows 10 because of outdated software and such, is this true? what would you guys do? :).

The drivers for BOTH systems are just as old. There is no difference! In-game performance will be mostly the same, as will standard browsing

You can no longer upgrade to Windows 10 for free though, so if that machine was not upgraded to Windows 10 before you're stuck with Windows 7

My experience with a laptop with an AMD A4-3300M Llano (1.9GHz Dual Core, 2.5GHz Boost) 6GB RAM that was "upgraded" to Windows 10 proves otherwise. Windows 7 seemed faster, more responsive and the updates were less maddening.

Just my experience with one low end laptop from 2011... My sister has an AMD A8-4500M (1.9GHz Quad Core, 2.8GHz Boost) 4GB RAM laptop and she is perfectly happy with Windows 10...
