Hey lads,

Just wondering I'm thinking of upgrading my PC specs
i5 4690k
Nvidia gtx 970
Msi Pc mate mobo
8gb ram
Kingston 120gb data
Western digital 1 terabit

Now I've started doing YouTube videos and I'm wondering what should i Upgrade ? I was Thinking of getting an i7 and mebey a new gpu like a 1060 nvidia card and also upgrading the SSD and a new disk drive as I'm running out of GB!

Also was thinking of uping to 16gb ram good idea?

Im hitting 50fps with the new Battlefield 1 when recording which is good and I normally get 70 ish But I'm not running on Ultra etc.

What would you suggest? I want to keep it as cheap as possible ( But I'll Pay if its worth it!)

Many thanks.

If you're making videos, upgrade to i7 is a valid option. It will improve performance significantly.
Go with i7-4790, it will not require change of morherboard or ram.

More ram also is a good idea. 8GB already is not enough for current games. Video editing also will benefit from more ram.

About graphics card upgrade - gtx1060 doesn't feel such a big upgrade over gtx970. I'd upgrade to at least gtx1070.
the CPU is fine, you won't see any FPS advantage going for the i7 or upgrading to skylake
16GB is nice but honestly, it's hard to fill up the 8GB right now

if you're running out of storage, adding some is of course a good option.
depending on what kind of data you're running out of available space another HDD might be enough

also the BF1-BETA(!) is not really a parameter as if you should upgrade. wait for the final release + 1st patch, then you'll be able to say if an upgrade is really necessary.
upgrading from the 970 to the 1060 will improve things but is bad value imo, better wait for the next generation if possible
the 1060 is as powerful as a 980, for Dx12 titles like BF1 the Rx480 could be interesting, we'll have to wait for benchmarks there to see what both cards can do there

but yes, if you want to immediately upgrade the 1060 is your best shot (6GB)

Thanks for your answer! I was thinking of upgrading around Christmas Time. I was even thinking of selling my Xbox one (pc master race right? lol ) For a 1080 or a 1070 but I herd it's overkill for 1080p! And then to get an i7 so it wouldn't bottleneck And it would be handy for editing!

What do you think?

Thanks.

if you can afford it the i7 is nice especially for editing but if it means cutting back somewhere else the i5 will do depending on how heavy your editing is (heavy video editing vs. making a mixtape every once and then)

the 1080 is nice if you game @2k or above. below that a 1070 is fit enough for your needs
but it all comes down to your budget.

didn't mean to select "answer" But anyways,

Ill Try and do that, But I wonder when these cards will start to fall as in Price wise? When I got all my bits for my pc which was around a Year ago the 970 was around 400 euro! I'd really like to get a Solid pc that will last a good few years, Which is why I really want to upgrade I'll either get a 1080 or a 1070..
