your motherboard can use any modern card literally pretty much anything made after 2006 although if your looking for card suggestions the main focus should be your power supply as that will be your limiting factor so one of these should work as they use a little less power than a 670

If there is one free PCI Express X16 slot, psu powerful enough to support it, sufficient space within your chassis and plenty of money to spend, then sky is the limit my friend.

A quick edit: It would help a lot in narrowing down to a few good cards if you'd reveal the resolution of your display, your budget and your expectation from the gfx card.

anything you want, as long as you have a decent i5 or better, your case can physically fit the card, and you have the power supply to power it

Thank you very much for the reply :) i inherited this machine from my son who built it a couple of years ago....but it needs a new graphics card and i wasnt really sure what was suitable. I have a couple of thoughts below if you could see what you think i would very much appreciate it :)

I have a 750w power supply so im thinking thats fine....ive always used nvidia but my son recently built a new machine and went AMD for the first time himself so interested in what you might think....and these mini ones i have no idea about so just putting it out there again to see what you think.

Thank you very much for your help :)

these are the choices at around the same price

overall... i would say the rx 480 is the better choice

if you dont mind the extra price at $379, this card hands down

Sure thing (i myself perfer AMD) if your talking about the cards you put down, the RX480 wipes the floor with the 960 if your wanting Nvidia, a 1060 is your better option. About the mini thing if your case is larger than this....

then there is no need to use one they run hotter and are sometimes cutback in terms of performance to keep power consumption and heat down. If you want to know which card to get just find out what games you plays AMD will do better with most EA games (mirrors edge, battlefield, fifa, titanfall, crysis, and quite a few non EA games) nvidia has games like (the witcher, warthunder, GTAV, skyrim, fallout, ect)

I cannot help you much there but what i can say is that if your CPU is something like some i3 or a pentium those processors would likely not be capable of keeping up with the RX480 and thus you wouldn't get the full power of that card but if you have a i5 or an i7 (or really any xeon) then the sky is the limit price to preformance i would say its about the same maybe leaning a little closer to the 470 but its still a decent preformance leap i can really recommend either card . :wahoo: PS: im so sorry for you in australlia you pay for a 470 299$(USD) we can pick up a 480 230$

You will have to stick to DDR3 for the moment as motherboards compatible with 5th generation Intel processors do not support DDR4 RAM. You may open up your case and take a good look at your motherboard right next to the memory slots where the type of RAM supported by your motherboard should be inscripted.
