i recently built a pc for my friend using parts he gave me, the system turns on fans spin, leds are on etc. but when hooked up to a monitor it says no signal. i have tried reseting cmos and the graphics card, ram, etc work in my system but not his. it doesnt have a os because its new but bios doesnt even appear. ive tried multiple monitors same no signal on all of them. think the motherboard is fried? or is there an issue with the power supply? could it be to low of a voltage that the computer just wont boot up?

Solution
You have way to low of a power supply for what you are trying to run. 350 is not enough for any gaming build. (I didn't even know they still made those) You need to upgrade your psu (you can't start your pc when you plug in the gpu because it requires more power than you have). I recommend at least 600w (it runs most builds, and unless you plan on running i7 6700 and titan x, it should do for your needs)
Hope this helped!

PC specs please?
It could be certain components aren't getting power (I forgot to plug in my cpu power when I made mine a couple weeks ago). Before I can help any more I need pc specs (everything, psu, Mobo number, etc)

I to forgot too plug in the CPU power on my first build! Check to see if you were CPU power is unplugged. It's usually a four pin connector on the motherboard. Also, if you have a graphics card with a six pin connector, make sure that is connected to, although I highly doubt that is the issue because in my case when I forgot to plug in my six pin graphics card power connector it gave me a screen that said to plug in the graphics card power connector, but then again it was still at least showing something on the screen versus nothing at all then I forgot to plug in the CPU power

it cant be a graphics card issue as i put it into my own system and it worked, ram aswell. it has to be the motherboard or cpu which were both new, cpu powers plugged in (8 pin) and no connector for the cheap video card

I just ran a wattage calculator based on your specs. It recommended a power supply have at least 392 W or higher. Before you do that however, I must ask you, the connector that you used for your CPU power, does your power supply have another one of those? Try to find another one that fits into the power socket. I had the same issue you described when I was building my first computer, and using the CPU power connector that came with my modular power supply rather than the power connector that only did I find out later was supposed to be used for the graphics card, soft and my issue and my PC booted just fine. So do you have another connector you could try you in the CPU power slot?

i think the motherboard is fried because he said that while he was running it at his house the power went out, given it wasnt hooked up to anything but still, i took everything out of his pc and tried it on mine the only thing that would not work was the cpu, i have a 750w power supply in my own computer should i try with that instead. i have other paqrts here like cpus that are compatable so i could try it. would a garbage cpu and small power supply prevent the motherboard from going into post?

Try with the 750w power supply. Part of your problem could stem from the fact that your 350 W power supply is not enough for some of your components. If that doesn't work then the motherboard is probably damaged and I would just replace it

That's exactly what I was thinking was the issue. And to the OP, can I recommend a corsair power supply? One that is modular so you can manage you cables more effeicently.

power supply intended to go into the build was late arriving so i put one of my own that came out of a pc i put together several years ago, i figured the small gpu didn't need and extra power and the psu would be fine however it was not and when the actual psu finally arrived in the mail the system worked perfectly, thank you,
