i'm Torn between Nitro RX 480 OC and MSI Gaming X GTX 1060 6GB
and also there is no rx 480 4gb model available and the msi gaming x gtx 1060 6gb is cheaper or same price as nitro rx 480 OC 8gb in my country

i like in RX 480 is that a better dx 12/async compute and 256 bit and better age/future proof

i have chance now to get the MSI Gaming X GTX 1060 6GB before it is out of stock but i want a card that age longer for 3 to 4 years which AMD rx 480 supposed to do"with async compute /256 bit/better dx12"

so shall i wait till rx 480 4gb availability in stock or the rx 480 8gb price lower a little or pay now more in nitro rx 480 8gb
OR get the MSI Gaming X GTX 1060 6GB model as it 10% faster than rx480 in dx11 titles and skip the dx 12 age/future proof worries

*note i don't care about freesync as i already bought a new 1080 monitor and for crossfire it isn't important to me for now
Thanks

I'm on the same boat, I have a FX 8320 and I'm waiting for the RX 480 to be available in my country and here where I live (at least here) the G1 Gaming 1060 is cheaper but I want a good card because I dont pretend to change CPU for a couple of years

Buy whatever suits , in all honesty at 1080p there's nor really a huge performance difference

Personally I don't buy MSI cards , I find their quality control sketchy at best, their gpu's are unquestionably better than their motherboards though

Historically for the last 3 generations, amd cards have held their performance better a year or longer down the line.
Is it a definite the 480 will be the same , who knows ??
Fairly likely though IMO

I can't recommend the RX Strix cards ever since the Tomshardware review of the Strix RX 470 not cooling its memory well (the temps were way past the memory's rated maximum operating temperature). But that portion of the review has been deleted and wiped out of history :)
