So its 2016 and i have had this computer since July of 2014. I have had to deal with it crashing for 2 years and didnt have the time and didnt want to put the effort into fixing it. recently it has gotten to the point to where i can only play one match on battlefield before it crashes. I am finally going to try to fix this problem. I have updated my graphic and network drivers and even my bios yet nothing helps.

My specs are as follows;
AMD fx 8350 8 core
msi r9 390 gaming 8gb
4 8gb corsair vengence ram
corsair cx 500 m psu
wd blue 1tb hdd
intel ssd 240gb
windows 10

This problem started only months after I built my pc. It started to crash on games like rust and skyrim. It would crash every few hours or so, which was fine because I usually didnt play that long. I then formatted my drives and upgraded to windows 8.1. This solved my problems for a short time, however games started to crash again. This got me frustrated so I quit gaming for most of the week and would play very little.

I started playing again and the crashes continued. I upgraded to windows 10 and still had crashes. I replaced my graphics card and added 2 more sticks of memory. This fixed my problem until recently. I am very frustrated because I payed good money to replace the graphics card and still my problem persists. Please tell me what to do next and or what might be causing the problems.

My crashes are usually more like freezes. The game freezes and I cant enter task manager or exit the game at all. It is as if my entire computer froze. Sometimes i get a blue screen with the erorrs like critical process died, or (something) equal not equal. Just recently my computer crashed while on the desktop (critical process died).

Sidenote: my applications have been opening slower and my computer seems to not be able to handle many things happening at once, though i can run games smoothly (besides freezing)

Solution

you have an underpowered and very poor power supply

you need a GOOD 650w or better unit

get a tier 1 or 2 unit from this list in 650w or better...
run the sfc and dism commands on elevated cmd...
download harddisksentinel and check ur hdd/ssd health and smart data...
also download hwmonitor and check the temps while gaming...
check ur system rating for the lowest hardware score...
check the event logs for critical logs during these freeze times...
