Good Day guys, I just downgrade my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14pc from windows 8 to win7. I had a problem regarding the USB ports on my laptop. When I plug mouse, keyboards, or other gadget, it has power but my laptop didn't show anything, like installing driver. I tried scanning hardware changes from device manager, I also tried short-circuiting but pulling the power from socket but nothing helps. the other port can read peripherals and is active but the two 3.0 USB ports are not working. I'm open to any suggestions you have. Thanks in advacne guys.

Solution
Windows 7 DOES NOT NATIVELY SUPPORT USB 3.0. You must install hte 3.0 drivers from the manufacturer website, but if there is none you will need to reinstall Windows 8

is there no other way around ? like some virtual driver ? or port converter ?

No, Win 7 can support USB 3.0, but not NATIVELY. Win 8 and up don't need drivers for most USB 3.0 controllers, Win 7 does need those drivers.

And a USB splitter will not work if connected to the USB 3.0 ports!

Seriously, just reinstall Windows 8, it's better anyway (though you should have updated to 10 when you had the chance to do it for free!)

Having used Win 8 on three machines from the time it came out to when Win 10 was released, I can tell you that it was in every way better than Win 7. It had all the functionality of Win 7 plus a whole bunch of extra features I used regularly. It was just as stable as 7, but natively supported USB3 and had a better scheduling engine that actually helped out a lot of the software I wrote for it.
