Hello there!

A friend of mine is experiencing issues while playing DirectX 11 games. While playing games that uses DirectX 11, his video signal just turns off on certain areas of the game while his VGA doesn't really shutdown. He already changed every single piece of his computer, except the HD. Differently from what people with similar issues stats, he doesn't experiences overheating while playing DirectX 11 games. He already checked his HD health status with CDI and already used DDU to uninstall and then reinstall his graphic drivers. Also tried to change his HDMI cable, but nothing changed.

System specs: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Portuguese - Intel Core i7-4770 - 12GB RAM - GeForce GTX 970 - Cougar 800w +Gold Power Supply

Hi, has he updated his directx by any chance? that seems a dx\driver problem imo but since u already used DDU, did he use the recomended DDU in Safe mode?

when the video signal turns off, does it come back up or does he have to restart the PC. Portuguese here too ;)

Yes, He already reinstalled and updated all of his drivers with DDU in Safe mode too. When the video signal turns off, he needs to restart the computer, otherwise the signal wont come back.

What power supply does he have, i know you wrote 800w, but what brand & model?

If he has to restart every single time, then that seem like its the 970 causing the issue, and i dont mean driver issue but the GPU itself.
If it was the power supply going kaput it would turn itself off as u enter a game.

You could however be having that issue because of a low "amp" 12v on that power supply. can you try with another power supply?
you should be able to do it with an average\good power supply of 500W.

He already changed every single piece of his computer, so as long as i believe, it cant be anything related to any piece. The problem started with other graphic card, he changed to the 970, and it still happen. Cougar 800w Plus-Gold Power Supply.

So the problem started with another graphics card, he changed to the 970, and you are saying he changed motherboard, ram, cpu aswell?

Did he format his hard drive and reinstall windows? that would be the first thing to do after he changed so many things.

It started with another graphics card, but we're more than sure it is not the culprit of the issues. Yes, he changed every single piece. He reinstalled windows this week around two times.
