So, theres a lot of variables to account for and I will try to tell them all.
I had windows 10, I had been planning to go back to windows 7, but one day, I put in a new GTX 960, and all of the sudden my ethernet doesnt work. Doesnt recognize that a cable has been plugged in, yet it is still getting power... Okay, so I've been planning to move back to Win7, so I'll just go ahead and do that. This does not work. I get all my necessities, display drivers, peripherals, you know. (ALL OF THIS WAS DONE USING A USB-ETHERNET ADAPTER)
So at this point, I have downloaded my motherboards (Gigabyte 990FX-UD3) realtek drivers for ethernet, but alas, still nothing in device manager in the network adapter department. Tried multiple cables, didnt work... Motherboard seems to be okay otherwise, everything else on the board works fine, even Windows Diagnostics says its a driver issue, but if it were, shouldn't it at least be detecting my cable when I plug it in?
Really drawing a blank on this one, especially with my 10 years of experience in the workaround/troubleshooting business. Thanks for any help. Just ask if you need more info.
