Hi!

Like the title states, I am looking for a 775 board with pcie 2.0 and that can overclock a cpu. I have a q9550 I would like to stick in it. I am having a hard time finding anything besides super nice ones that still draw a premium on ebay (I can get 1150 z97 boards cheaper than some of these)

Thanks!

Well, you're looking for an extremely limited motherboard in short supply. One should expect to pay a premium price. As far as I can tell, the only socket 775 motherboards that support PCI-E 2.0 are the X38 series chipsets. Fact of the matter is, you'd probably be better off selling your Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 and putting that towards a completely new build.

They were discontinued in 2009 for 99% and the other 1% a few years later. You will have a hard time finding anything besides super nice ones that still draw a premium on ebay. If your looking for somebody giving one away cheap, then I think your wasting your time.

So, they are just super rare. Thanks. I don't need the money for a build. Im doing this for fun. I have a 4790k, 1070, 16GB RAM build already. I just have a stack of 775 PC's I want to fiddle with and maybe build a stout one for fun. Not worth the extra $$$ for a rare board for fun/nostalgia. Let the mobo collectors ( I guess that's who keep them and want a premium?) keep them. Thanks for the info!
