What is the attraction to hardware such as SteamBox's, Syber Vapors vs Desktops?

I don't get it. It seems like these "boxes" are just computers, but you put them on their side. What's the difference between (for example) a Syber Vapor Xtreme vs a i7 with a 1080? I DON'T GET IT **throws chair**

Steam boxes like the Syber Vapor ARE pc's that are running the SteamOS
basically a console version of a pc is all they are. You can run the steam os on yor pc if you wanted to.

A SreamBox is the same functionality as a PlayStation, just with Steam games instead of Playstation games.
You play games with it. Its a game console.

But,a s it is a basic Linux OS, you can, if desired, go beyond the base SteamOS, and do your own thing,
