hello , am experiencing some difficulties related to understanding why my memory upgrade didn't work well .
i have a laptop ASUS x554la i3 with 4GB installed memory running windows 10 , and a bought a 4GB DDR3 to make a total of 8GB memory , but the system is detecting only the old 4GB .

my issue is , is it possible that DDR3L (PC3L ) will work , and DDR3 doesn't ?
if not , what's the solution to make the system detect the DDR3 ?

here is the images from CPU-Z :

1| Are both the sticks of ram the same/identical(apart from their serial numbers)? If not then it's not advised to mix and match sticks of ram.
2| Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date?
3| Per your product's specs page it will support DDR3L or DDR3 rams which means that the range of voltage by your IMC is between 1.35v and 1.5v. If you have both types of ram installed then you will either face system instability or one of your rams missing.
4| Go into your BIOS and see if all the ram is recognized but in any event, I'm going to have to stress that you remove the new ram as well as the old and buy a kit, i.e 2x4GB DDR3L kit instead of mixing and matching memory types.
