Hello guys!

I recently bought a new skylake system (i just kept the HDD / SSD and the pc case from my old rig) and i also switched from a full amd build to a full intel one. Ofcourse i did a clean install of the OS + latest drivers and everything else required.

I hope its not actually a problem and im just being paranoid but i feel like my 6700k i7 is reaching high usages (when i received the CPU the box it came in was damaged so ever since then im trying to find a problem with it, thats why it might be paranoia).

My first issue was the temperature i was reaching ~75-80* C and that was way too hot for my comfort zone so i did a little research and i fixed it by manual setting the VCORE to 1.25 (for some reason hwmonitor shows VID 1.210), with the default setting it was reaching ~1.370. Now my temperature never got higher than 68* C (and i hit that only while gaming + streaming, so its fine by me)

Regarding the high usage, while in idle the cpu usage is stable at 0-1 % which i think its normal, but while browsing it sometimes reaches the overall cpu usage of 15-20% but some cores may reach even 54% usage, opening the steam window with the library made 1 core reach 96% usage.

While playing Battlefield 1 on 1080p everything maxed out it seems pretty stable at around 70% usage (lowest per core 78% and highest 96% from "max usage") while with the vsync on and stable at 60 fps the usage is around 50-55 %

While playing Battlefield 1 + streaming with vsync on its pretty stable at 65-70% usage (more cores spiked to 90+% individual usage)
While streaming with vsync off its running around 88-92% (at some point each single core will eventually reach 100% usage)

Im streaming using OBS 720p @60fps 3000 bitrate, i've heard around that people using haswell i7 or even i5 while streaming hit just 60-70% (but i've never taken to consideration what settings they use ig)

My rig:
CPU: i7 6700k + corsair h55
RAM:HyperX Fury Black 16GB Kit2x8GB DDR4 2133MHz
MOBO: ASUS Z170-A
GPU: GTX 1080
PSU: Corsair RMx Series RM650x 650W, 80+ Gold

Please let me know that i dont need to RMA the CPU and that these values are perfectly normal, thanks and i hope i didn't waste your time! Cheers.

Hi I'm having the same issue thou kinda different.

I'm running an i7 4790k, 4x4GB RAM and a MSI GTX 1080 at 1440p on a 144hz gsync monitor.

I'm getting unbelievably high usage and stutter if I play ultra with 60-100fps (mostly 70-80) ita pretty much unplayable. How is my CPU actually bottlenecking my GPU as well as it goes 60% when stutter from high usage happens. How do I fix this

Well your processor may bottleneck your gpu at some point
