I'm looking for a good mechanical keyboard for my office. I wanted a no thrills looking one as it is a business setting. No funky backlighting or design.

I think I narrowed down to Das keyboard model s. But I don't have a store nearby to compare the switches. I am deciding between the blues or Browns. While I didn't want it too loud, i do have my own office.

Unlike others on here, I never liked the old IBM model M. It always sounded too hallow for me. I like the click and tactile feeling of a mechanical. Are the Browns similar in feel to the model M?

Any other recommendations would be appreciated too for similar models.

There is no 'best'. Everyone's fingers and wants are different.

Really, the only way is to actually lay hands on, and see how it feels.
Just the other day I bought a mechanical. In the store, 2 different ones from Razer...both felt completely different. Buying online without touching first would have been a 50-50 tossup.
Keyboard A felt too mushy (to me), Keyboard B was just right (if a teeny bit loud).

Only you know what your fingers desire.

I've never seen one onstore. But my 'store' choices are limited. BestBuy/Walmart/OfficeDepot, etc.

With my new Razer, the only one next to me is the spouse. And she hasn't complained. Yet.
