How much would my sistem benefit from this upgrade?

Current specs:
fx 6300 4.3 ghz (will do 4.5 ghz)
GA 970a-UD3p rev 2.0
10 gb ram on 2 slots
Sapphire nitro+ RX 470
Sufficient PSU to run all this and oc the 6300 to 4.5 easily
LC-CC-120 cpu cooler which is performance wise same as the CM 212 Evo.

I can get i5 4460+lower quality mobo(also Gigabyte, but no passive coolers on it, only 2 memory slots)
I can get this mobo+cpu and sell off mine for a 50 euro difference, both of CPU/mobo's are in warranty for the next 2+ years.
I would lose 50 euros for this upgrade, and 50 euros in my country is not in any way a small amount of money, but can afford it if it would bring me a good difference.
Cheers!

  1. Hi Ivanbass1 :)

You would gain significant single core (80-90%)performance with the I5 4460. This is good for gaming however the i5 is not overclockable unless the MB has modded Bios. The i5 4460 has turbo boost and around 25% better performance in multi core. Less power consumption and overall temperature reduction.
It comes down to the MB,but I think its not a bad deal for 50 euro.

Yes thats why im thinking about it, stock vs stock i know the i5 is way better, but i have a good cooler and a stable 4.5 ghz will be done with ease.
I have no bottleneck now so is it better for me to wait for a Kaby Lake/Zen cpu and save money rather than going for i5 and not changing it in 3-4 years?

Waiting for ZEN is a good option, If what they say is true regarding performance. Of course this would require a MB upgrade. Doubt it will be on the market before Q1 2017. That's my next build. Maybe. :)

Of course, i plan on upgrading the mobo then ^^
Its good since my mobo+cpu will still be good for another year and a half in warranty in Q1 2016 and i'll sell it off for a decent price.
    Thank you for answering ^^
