Hello

I have an Asus Computer Intel Core I7-4770S, CPU 3.10 GHz, DDR3 1600MHz 8GB RAM

My problem is I can't connect to the internet. One day after a win10 update my lan cable wasn't recognized by my computer anymore. At first I thought I had to switch back to win 8.1 but a reboot didn't work out so I got myself a Wlan USB stick and at first it worked for a month and everything was allright but after I rstartet my computer again it stopped working too and whenever I try to put the Wlan USB stick in it doesn't get recognized like my LAN-Cable before. I rebootet my computer to the ground and even then it didn't work.

Is there any hope for my computer?

We will hope you do not have defective hardware devices. This is likely a driver issue. Microsofts anniversary update broke a lot of people machines. In some cases it installs generic drivers, in other the driver is no longer compatible.

For the inbuilt ethernet you want to go to the manufactures for your motherboards website and see if they have any new drivers. Asus tends to be pretty good about support. You can also check to see if the chipset for the ethernet chip itself has newer drivers on that manufacture web site. Most times you will have intel, reltek or killer ethernet chips. Back a month or so ago you have to get them from the chip manufactures site but lately the motherboard companies have put those on their...

Why a USB device would stop working I have no idea. Maybe you could uninstall it completely and reinstall it. Again you could have driver issues....I hate win10 forced auto update. When it first came out it would overlay my video drivers and the machine would boot to a black screen.
