Hi, I'm new to PC gaming and wanted a little feedback on this customized system I purchased at a pawn shop for 500 bucks on sale.

i3-6300 CPU 3.80GHz

8.00gb ram

Z170 Asrock fatalityt Motherboard

500gb storage

WiFi

Acer X233H bid 23-Inch LCD Monitor

Radeon R9 290x Graphics card

**Not sure the power supply and case type, but it's HUGE, has a big plastic window that displays the mesmerizing blue lighting, and has 3 huge fans. Its quiet as a mouse.

Plays fallout 4 with nearly everything maxed out (minus HIGH godly rays) at 30-38fps outside and a smooth 50-60fps inside. I'm not sure of those fps numbers, those are just estimates based on ps4 comparisons. In other words, its super smooth!

I know I got a good steal for a great system, but I'm just wondering how good of a system do I have????

THANKS EVERY ONE.

Well this day and age I would call 4 threads (not cores, will talk about this soon) a minimum.
While my processor has 4 cores and 4 threads, your processor has 2 cores and 4 threads (intel hyperthreading). So it can essentially simulate 4 threads, which makes it a great option. It also has much better performance per core than my processor.

Your graphics card is just simply better than mine as well.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Yeah, I first saw the rig about 4 weeks ago and I immediately took a picture of the specs and did some googling. My check didn't come until 3 days ago, and I was praying that it was still there. An

And when I went, it was definitely still there! I immediately told the clerk to ring it up.

Given the relatively obstructive high cost-of-entry gaming pc's impose, I feel blessed that I was able to get an above-average system at such a low price.

One more question, is it easy to add more ram? Sometimes my memory will run close to 99% usage and everything will slow down, so I'm looking into buying more ram. Also, how do I find out what ram is compatible with my motherboard? thanks a lot.

Thanks !

Judging by your system's specs, you clearly have a monster!

Looking forward to upgrading my system.

Ps. Didn't realize I would get responses so fast. This is a pretty cozy site.

BLESSINGS

Lmaoooo,
Well, I'm new so I'm still learning what makes one system superior to another. I've done some research and it seems as if the CPU and GPU are the most important components, followed by ram.

Also, I've heard that quad/eight cores are becoming more prevalent, and preferable to dual core processors (as mine is). Would anyone care to elaborate?

Oh and thanks for the Ram links, gonna order it tonight!
