I was messing around with firestorm with my 960 graphics card and changed a setting that had to do with framerate to 60 from 40. My computer restarted and now my monitor says need to change to recommended 60hz. I can reach my desktop and the menu button on my monitor but it says I am at 1920x1080 60hz. I thought restarting my computer since firestorm doesn't use its setting when it isn't opened but its still happening. I don't know what to do and I feel like I just locked myself out of my own computer. I tried different boot modes but they didn't do anything

Solution
Does your motherboard have onboard video outputs? If, try removing 960 all together and connect to onboard to see if you can get into Windows. This way, you can uninstall firestorm, ect. If not, try another video output on 960 besides one you are currently using. If this doesn't work, a CMOS clear perhaps, though unlikely fix. Otherwise, you may need to make ISO/Repair drive using another PC.

It had something to do with framerate and that is all I changed. I just want to figure out how to get to my desktop to undo the change or factory reset my computer.

I can't reach the desktop at all. After the main startup where I can press f12,f2,etc it says i need to set my settings to 1920x1080 60hz. If I could get to the desktop I could probably fix this.

I was going by your first post which mentioned you could reach the desktop. If you have USB/CD you could try to try the factory reset or go into safe mode and try to uninstall firestorm. May need access to another PC if you don't. I've heard that if you boot unsuccessfully 3 times it will force Windows to boot into the repair options screen, but this is for 8, 8.1 and 10. Not sure what you version you have.

It should say can't I will fix that typo. I have windows 10 but its not failing to boot. It is just not showing the desktop because i messed with the refresh rate. Maybe if I get a faster monitor I could go into my desktop and undo the cahnge.

That would be an extreme case. Do you have an optical drive in your PC, or a USB drive available? I'd look into downloading the ISO from MS website, so you have a bootable drive to try and fix your problem. I still find it odd that this is happening based on firestorm settings though. When it occurs, have you tried just turning off your monitor and turning on?
