I have a wireless router connected to pc via ethernet cable but then it had some problems regarding pings(even when connected) so i wanted to test it with another router
So I borrowed my grandmas router and connected it to my pc
But it would never connect to the Internet
I disabled wifi via router even
Not working
Funny thing is even when I connect ed my own cables the wifi says my grandma's username (the router is working in her apartment)
I forgot the exact error message but I think I saw DNS lookup something
Can anyone help?

Oh and after I plugged back my own router it works again
My grandma routers work too in her own apartment
So it's not a router problem right

Solution
connect your grandmom's router run command line (go to search and type cmd) and run those 3 commands and tell us the output:

ipconfig
tracert 8.8.8.8
tracert www.google.com
- the Network name (SSID) depends on the Router not it's location
- to connect to the internet, you got to provide the router with the data for your internet connection as provided by your ISP. if you got your router from your ISP it will most likely be preconfigured. but you should have gotten a letter in which the ISP tells you your username, your password and all the other settings for your router to connect to your ISPs servers&network infrastructure
generally, the combination of username+password+MAC adress is bound to one location by most ISPs so you can't really test the router at another location, however it can work when you're with the same ISP

scrap the windows error message, you don't get an internet connection as the router tries to contact your grandma's ISP infrastructure from the wrong place
if you're with the same ISP, contact your ISP and the support will help you set it up (better call than writing an email, trust me)
