Hello, I have a weird problem that has started to plague my computer recently.

What happens is that every morning when I power on my computer it shuts down after about 15-30 seconds. Upon which if I power it up again it boots normally, as if nothing happened. Another thing I've noticed yesterday is when I'm playing games with Oculus rift (DK2), my monitor will periodically flicker (every 5-15 minutes), but not my Oculus rift. This might be related, but it might just be Nvidia drivers. I'm not sure.

I'm guessing that either my power unit or graphics card might be dying.

My computer specs are:
Intel core i7-4790k cpu 4,0 GHz (Devils Canyon) S1150
2x8 GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1600
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3 Mainboard
Crucial Bx1000 250 GB SSD
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 (GV-N970G1 GAMIN-4GD)
These were all bought on 12.12.2014.

There is also my old reused HDD from my old computer:
WDC WD2500JS-55NCB1,
Which is several (possibly 10) years old by now.

My Power unit is Corsair CX750 (Bronze), which was rush-bought 3 months before I bought my PC (on 11.09.2014), becasue my old PSU died before I could fully buy a new PC or do proper research on it.

This issue started happening after I bought my new SSD Samsung V-nand SSD 850 EVO (bought on 16.08.2016). I have tried reseating all the cables and the RAM, but the issue persists. I have also tried booting without the new SSD, which likewise doesn't solve the problem.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Update: When looking at the screen, computer boots up all the way to the point where the windows 10 logo shows up.

Solution
If there's a new one is it possible it would help.Which revision do you have? Can be found at the left bottom corner of the motherboard.

Did you do a clear cmos? After that enable XMP in the bios so that the ram works at rated speed, timings and voltage.

The new ssd for storage or bootdrive? Did you do a clean install or try to transfer/clone the other ssd if the latter?

I did n0t clear the cmos, but I will try and see if it works.

New SSD is just for storage, but as I've written in the OP, I have tried booting without it connected. The old SSD is my windows drive, so I can't really disconnect that. Also I have windows 10, not sure if I can do a clean install and, frankly, II'd rather not do it.
