I have a GTX 960

I've been using it for about a year now, but i recently bought another monitor and would like to hook it up with my graphic card. However, the only remaining outputs are 3 displayports and one DVI. The DVI outport has a protective shield over it, secured by two screws. Which makes me worry.

So can i just remove the shield and use the DVI output, or are the shield there to keep me from doing that?

never seen that on a card at most a cheap plastic cover for protection ? why the need to screw it down like that ?? then I don't see any screwed down cover on your linked product page of the card ?? hmmmmm.......
