Hello guys,

I mainly use my PC for gaming , this past 2 weeks I realized I had a big fps drop from like 120 to 60 and then to 03 FPS... in like 2/3 seconds... That's really boring!!!
I can afford wasting some money on my little old machine xDD

I don't have that much so I need to waste well on that. 55$ budget

What I have:

CPU: Intel Pentium E2220 2.20Ghz (

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6670 2GB DDR3

RAM: 4GB DDR2 800Mhz

PSU: Can achieve 500w ( I can search for the model if in need)

Motherboard: ga41-m combo

So please any suggestions will be considered , thanks in advance!!

What im thinking to do.

1) I have 2 slots free for ram , my motherboard is one of the latest lga775 out there and supports ddr3 1333mhz, so I was thinking upgrading from my 4gb to 8gb.

2) I was thinking upgrading my cpu intel pentium e2220 2.20ghz to a Core 2 Quad Q9550

3) Sell mobo + cpu and trying getting a decent combo of a more recent family like 1150.

Please tell me what I should do. And what you would make in that case. Sorry for my bad english!! Hugs from Portugal :D

What about psu or cooling? do I need to change anything or I just simply buy the new Cpu?? What about differences?? Will I notice something different in terms of FPS?? Drops will end with new cpu?

Well, sell mobo and CPU and try to get a decent combo is the better way.
The other way is to upgrade to C2Q, but that will not last long, seeing as it's a very old CPU.
You can get a new DDR3 system, but the bad thing is that you have 2 sticks of 2GB and cheap motherboards come with 2 slots of RAM.
So you will have to buy new RAM anyway, since you are already buying RAM, go for Skylake.
That PSU is probably very bad and should be replaced before it catches on fire.

Well on e-bay my mobo sells for around 50/60$ , I still have 50$ budget so with around 100$ do you think I can get mobo + cpu?

There's any software that allows me to check my Psu model/ stats?

What about the fps drops? I usually play League Of Legends and I downgraded to windows 7 from windows 10, still happens... What is causing that? I installed all the correct and updated drivers. I used Driver Booster to check those. Is it CPU dying or even the GPU?

Well, it's a pretty old CPU and I wouldn't be surprised if it was the problem.
The GPU can play LOL, I am sure of it, if the GPU is dying you will start to see signs, but not FPS drops.
FPS drops might be caused by GPU/CPU overheating, or your CPU is not good enough.

Really thanks for the time spent! I will buy Core 2 Quad Q9550 for now, and probably I will gather some money for a new rig on christmas =)
By the way I didnt even knew I had a cpu cooler that is useless because I never OC my CPU xD
