amd fx 8300 performance over the 6300

I broke my pins on my fx6300 3.8 ghz I had to get a cpu asap so i purchase the fx 8300 now is this way faster then the six core Because the six core was a beast running my apps I was getting 150 fps+ on ultra on some of the games I play now well i see better performance with the new cpu?

you will not see any extra FPS, as games currently do not use more than 4 cores. but it will help in multitasking.

Most* games don't benefit from more cores. But yes, generally speaking, adding more cores doesn't help a lot in games.

k just checking it was cheap in the bench marks or close to a i5 I do multy task allot. now does this card get Hot?

yes it does get pretty warm with the stock cooler. you might want to get something like a hyper212 evo for better cooling.

Although the FX's 8 cores roughly equal an i5's 4 cores, because most games only effectively use half (or less) of those cores, an i5 is typically close to twice as fast.
