Hi guys.I Have an old s775 mobo (P5K Premium) and since my old gpu died (gtx480) I wonder if i run to any problems if i upgrade to an rx480 or gtx1060.My psu is 1000w my cpu is a xeon x5460.Thanks

Solution
There should not be any issue running even the newest cards in a PCIE 1.1 expansion slot. The problem that may occur might be if your processor can keep up with the graphics card.

Either card would be a good upgrade and your psu shouldn't have any issues with them, I'm an nvidia fan so I would go with the 6gb 1060 but the 8gb 480 is also a good choice and would be about the same performance for less $.

Hi.Thanks for the answer. My main concern is the pci slot that i think is version 1.1 and not my psu.Do you think it will provide the power and the speed needed for these cards?Generaly speaking will it be compatible?I had no problems with my gtx480 which was a power hungry card though.

I know i maybe experience bottlenecks but thats ok.I was able to play gta v and wicher 3 decent with my gtx480.I am curious to see how the new cards will stress my old xeon cpu though
