Me and my friend are swapping both the motherboard and Cpu from our computers with each other. Intel i3/Msi mobo and a i5/Asus mobo. Both computers work perfectly with their own parts but as soon as I replaced the i5 pc with the i3 cpu and mobo and turned it on, it started up for a split second then shut off immediately. I reverted the motherboards back and both computers are working fine. Any suggestions to why this may be happening?

Solution
Try using one memory in one slot and with the hdd disconnected. If you can get to the bios try reinstalling windows. There may be a substantial driver issue.

I put the i3 into the computer with the i5. The pc had an i3 3220 + Gtx 960 with a 750 watt power supply so don't think that's the issue. Also that makes sense, maybe I just didn't have something connected properly?
