My water cooling liquid temperature when playing games like witcher 3
is at 45C but my CPU core temperature is at 55C . Is it normal for the temperature of the liquid to be lower than the cpu core, or should it be the other way around?. The only time they are the same is when the computer is Idle.

AMD FX6300 4.5Ghz

Solution
Sensors show CPU temperature inside the CPU package, right at the core. There is large loss in heat transfer to it's lid and than to cooler body. So you can't transfer all the heat generated at the core to any outside source, percentage of heat generated to heat transferred can never be 100%.
There is no way your CPU could be cooler than what's cooling it. Liquid cools your CPU because it's cooler, and heat energy flows from the higher temperature object (CPU) toward the lower temperature object (liquid) to try to reach equilibrium.

I'm checking the temperature by placing a thermometer (the one you would use in a chemistry lab) in the water reservoir.
I have a custom water cooling system

Any way to increase the heat tranfer from cpu to water ?

Is the 10C gap between the cpu temp and water to large ?

The cpu water block is copper and pump is 600liters per hour. Bottled Water with a few drops of hyper lube super coolant

Super fine polishing of surfaces, both, CPU and cooler and best TIM paste are just about everything that can be done. Some Intel CPUs can be de-lidded (scalped) and paste between lid and core changed to something better. In custom liquid coolers a water chiller can be added.
