windows will have a base driver that will allow you to get online and download the latest drivers from nvidia.
assuming that you are running off the iGPU on the CPU. install the card and move the monitor to the new card, boot the system and windows should boot right up, go to www.nvidia.com and download the driver and software. install drivers and enjoy.

The monitor has to be plugged into the system, I am assuming that the monitor is plugged into the motherboard along with all the other plugs. after installing the new card you will need to move the monitor cable from where it was pre-video card to the new card.

the monitor will need to be connected directly to the new 1060 by at least one cable, it is this cable I am talking about when I said move the monitor, I meant move the monitor cable.

450 VS shall serve you well. But since you are upgrading your PSU, you should consider about your future upgrades, and about the components you might add to it like extra drives, fans, fan controllers etc. In that case I would suggest you to invest in a more powerful PSU (VS 650, should be good) as it will take care of your power supply need for years to come.

And yes, the drivers can be installed from the card manufacturer's website or directly from nvidia's as well. Go to the download section and key in the required details to get the proper drivers for your system.

if you will not be upgrading, then the vs450 will be fine, you will even have a little spare wattage for some USB devices.

I don't see why you shouldn't go for the 450 VS, then. It will serve your purpose as long as you do not upgrade or throw in additional gear into your system.:)
