I just purchased a quad set (4x8gb) of DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z RAM for my new x99 Taichi system - F4-3200C16Q-32GTZKW.

On benching sites, I notice that my 16 latency is inferior to, say, the 14 version. So my question is, which upgrade is actually superior? A set of F4-3466C16Q-32GTZSW (3466Mhz & 16 Lat) or F4-3200C14Q-32GTZSW (3200 & 14).

Mind you, my mobo is new and doesn't have much information for compatible RAM kits.

Also, if you require- (Sys Setup)

Asrock x99 Taichi
i7-6800k
4x8GB G.Skill DDR4 F4-3200C16Q-32GTZKW
ASUS DUAL 1060 3GB GPU
SM961 512gb m.2 NvME (AUS version- OEM 960 series) (not a typo)
P300 Toshiba 3TB
Corsair CX850M Power Supply
Corsair H60
Win 10 Pro

I cant seem to find a review - the only benchmark that i could find is for the 3200 14 latency 4x16GB-

I know I wont notice the difference... I am just looking to make the best bench comp possible. :)

Well, I just purchased both the 3466 @ 16 and 3200 @ 14. I will let you know. :)

Happen to have an opinion between the i7-5930k and i7-6850k? I believe I need to upgrade to 40 lanes here shortly.

I dont have knowledge base for that I just know if you are getting ram its not going to make a whole lot of difference if you get the one with faster clock speed but slower latency as long ass it is the same generation of ram. I think.

Well, I upgraded to the 6850k. Quite honestly, it is NO faster than my 6800k. The good thing, however, is that it opened up lanes to allow both my ultra m2 drives to be active. My SM961 512gb card is getting 19900 on bench and despite my CPU going no faster- that makes me happy.

As far as ram, I purchased the 3466c16, 3200c14, and I had the 3200c16. all 4x8 Trident Z. None of them out performed the other- however, loading the board made for some dramatic increases.

I now have a set of 3200c14 8x16gbs coming- I will keep you posted. :)
