using 1 SSD for games and OS?

quick question. i have a 256 gb SSD and currently using for games (just 1 for now). if i install my OS in the SSD (to later use in my new build), will i still be able to put games in the SSD or should i buy 1 SSD 60/128 Gb just for the OS?
what is the difference in performance?

You can have both the os and your games on one drive and it will work better than two different drives unless it is in some sort of raid array.
