I want to upgrade my cpu without upgrading my mother board. Will I have to reinstall windows 10? or anything crazy like that?

I have an i5 4690k and I want to get an i7 4790k. is it even worth it?

Depends on what you're doing. If you're gaming it's not really worth it. If you're video editing, than it could be worth it.

For sure. Not too many games will take advantage of the extra threads of the i7. By the time it's commonplace, we'll be a few hardware generations down the road anyways.
