For the last 3 weeks my pings in a certain game has been going crazy. The game is MAT2 ,the normal ping for this game is around 30-90 ,any more and its unplayable. Because i`m not the only with this crazy ping,my friend from oversea has the same exact ping as me 240-270,because it started on the same day so we thought it could be their server issues . So we contacted the GMs and they asked us to do a tracert and found out that our ISP routes are not connecting to the one it`s suppose to be.

How it`s suppose to be

Its seems to be connecting to a Los Angeles server, why is that? And is there any way to fix it

Solution
It is not connecting to a los angeles server for some unknown reason it is going from singapore...I think...all the way to the USA and back to a server in asia.

This would be the same as if you bought a airline ticket from say Korea to Singapore but the airline only has flights from korea to los angeles and singapore to los angeles. You would have to change planes in the USA. Now if you could get a different airline that changed planes say in Japan it would take much less time.

There is nothing as a end consumer you can do about this. With internet it is likely some ISP in the path has a failure and had to go to a backup path which unfortunately was via the USA. When they finally get it fixed it will likely go more...

When they finally get it fixed it will likely go more direct. If it stays that way you have few option other than to try to change ISP but that too may not help. If the problem is something like a undersea fiber that got cut it may affect multiple ISP.
