Running a 1080 Strix at the moment. Can I use my old 970 Strix as a Dedicated PhysX card? Is it worth it?

Pretty self-explanatory. I have plenty of airflow in my case, and more than enough Wattage to support the extra power requirements.

I have a couple of 970 Strix's lying around that I used to have installed in SLI. Either they stay there gathering dust, I put them in another computer, or I use one as a Dedicated PhysX card.

As said it's certainly possible. Also as said it would only be worth it if you have games that utilize PhysX or FleX. For instance Killing Floor 2 uses FleX and would benefit from the dedicated card if you have Gibs and Fluids enabled.

That said, the 1080 is a pretty powerful card, I would need to see it myself if it substantially increased performance.

I've often thought about throwing a 760 that I've got lying around to see if it affects my framerate I get in Killing Floor 2 while Gibs and Fluids is enabled.
