Is This PSU Good Enough?

Solution

I would definatly not go for 350W, my 550W suggestion was more than enough as to make room for further upgrades and that it is high quality and modular; 450W will be fine so long as it is a good quality Unit. :)

But I have seen multiple threads where people say that a 450w PSU would be more than enough to run this rig, plus the PSU wattage calculator I just used said that I would need around 350w minimum? A bit of conflicting answers as they suggest a PSU that's 100w less than the one you did?

Its not a 450w but a 400w, and it is pretty high quality, but if need I can switch it out for a 500w less quality one for similar price, but I cant go above that price range (about 70 AUD) for a PSU. The 500w is the one I was originally going for, but the guy at the computer store swapped them out, and said it would all be fine.
Here is the exact 400w one: Armaggeddon PSU Voltron Gold 400w ATX Power Supply

what units would you get (400W / 500W)?
it can be wiser going for a higher quality 400W if the 500W unit is garbage

This ^. Wattage is not the main factor you need to look at within a PSU (Though it is generally used to select a PSU) As the 12V Rail is the most important thing when it comes to supplying high power consuming components; such as CPU and GPU.

Ahhh ok, after some digging I found that the 400w one is actually garbage, so will get the 500w one that does run on 12v, and has some good reviews on pcpartpicker. Thanks for your help!

good reviews on partpicker mean nothing
people will give the cheapest of units a good review bcs they're excited, probably bought a way oversized PSU and are happy their computer boots up.
just this day, I even saw someone recommending a Corsair CX600 builder to someone because he didn't have any problems with it.
so reviews by people who don't know anything mean nothing, reviews by experts who actually take the psu apart and look what's really in it, mean everything

As Iskolon said they may have good reviews but even the worst PSU's can run seemingly fine for a while; it's the longevity of the unit that counts aswell. Also all PSU's run 12v - its the Wattage/Ampere supplied by it you need to look at; for example a component requiring 20A on the 12v rail means = (20x12) = 240W so the 12V rail would have to supply 240W now if it only supplied 200W on the rail but the PSU was rated at 300W, you would not be able to run the component (These numbers are hypothetical and not based off actual components).
