Laptop's Memory upgrade

So i decided to upgrade my laptops memory from 4 to 8 Gigabytes... What should I do to achieve the dual channel mode except from choosing the the same size and clock ? Is there any chance different brands play a role ?

Mixing ram is chancy, it may or may not work. Theres also a chance that your laptop doesnt support dual channel either.
