Hello

I just received my msi x99 gamer pro by mail today. This is my first Intel build, so this is my first experience with an Intel board. Upon close inspection, it appears that two pins on the cpu socket are longer than the others? Is this normal? My cpu hasn't arrived yet, so I can't do any tests, just afraid at what I'm seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I's up to you, I'd let them know it has bent pins and all you've done is check - that your CPU hasn't yet arrived, because oft times with bent pins they automatically blame the user and won't RMA. This way you can show you don't have the CPU yet

Thanks for your response. The board was ordered from Amazon, as is the cpu. I have sent it back to be refunded. I hear they are excellent about customer protection regarding these issues, so hoping for the best.

Update for anyone still interested:

Amazon has issued refund for board. I ordered an Asus X99 Deluxe II in it's place, which arrived.

Build:

Asus X99 Deluxe II

GTX 1080 EVGA FTW Edition

Intel Core i7 6850k

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM 16Gigs

Corsair CX850M PSU

Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler

Older full tower case

Pretty standard 1TB SSD Sata Hard Drive

After some troubleshooting regarding RAM issue, re-seating both CPU and RAM, system appears to be fully functional. Hoping this continues, but impressed with the performance I'm seeing. Pretty much destroys any game I throw at it, all while, for the most part, not exceeding 40c on the CPU at stock speeds and voltages.

Overall extremely happy :D
