I've installed a new 8GB ddr3-1600 Crucial Ballistix ram stick in my PC to bring it to 16GB, and now it won't power up. I had been operating on the one slot, but now when I put the other ram stick in the A1 slot, the PC won't start. It just cycles on and off in a power loop. This is the strange part...

... when I put the new ram stick in either the A1 or B1 slot, it doesn't power up on either. And the ram stick I had before is in the B1 slot, and that's the only slot and ram stick the PC will power up with. Both the make and model of the ram sticks are the same.

My mobo is an Asrock H61m-VG4, I have a 500w psu, i5-2500k CPU with a GTX 750 card. What gives? The ram seems to be well-seated.

I have this same problem but with different specs. My PC gets stuck in a boot loop, every time it boots up the fans come on and lights then I hear a click and it shuts off and repeats. If I let it go it will sometimes boot and I can use it and I have to leave it on.

My Specs are Asus P8Z68 Mono w/ i7 2600k CPU
430W PSU, R7 360 GPU

I just got this mobo/cpu combo a few days ago and just added more ram yesterday so I'm not sure if it is because of the ram I added or something else since the parts I have were put in not long ago.

I have 2 sticks of Kingston Hyper fury x 4gb 1600mhz and I added a stick of 8gb kingston hyper fury x 1800 mhz yesterday and that is when the problem started happening.

I heard it isn't good to mix ram of different frequency's but I have it set in my bios to automatically adjust and since they are from the name manufacture I figured they would work. Any help would be appreciated, I think this is the same problem the OP has but I could be wrong.
