So last December I purchased myself the Rog g20bm completely awful mistake I know i should have made one with much better specs for the same or lesser price but that's not it. The cpu has become outdated and cant run more recent games that well, its the fx-770k, I already voided my warranty by doing something so I dont mind changing the cpu. So does anyone think I should upgrade my cpu to the A10 7850k? Its not too bad for price so I wont be crushed if it doesn't work or something and if thats the case ill just transfer the computer to an actual case. Thanks for any help!

The FX-770K and 7850K are virtually the same CPU. The only differences are that the 7850K comes with a 100mhz (2.5%) higher turbo clock, and the integrated GPU is enabled, which you're likely not going to use anyway. Unfortunately, there are no CPU upgrades for your PC unless you change your motherboard too.

On cpu world they say that both processors are fm2+ socket and have same pin count and dimensions so why would I have to get a new motherboard?
