Do LED Fans Annoy You?

I would like to hear people's opinions on LED fans. Do they annoy you? If so, after how long? Or do you love them?

I'm asking because I'm debating on whether to get Corsair's regular fans of their LED ones. I know the LEDs can't be turned off so my only concern is whether or not they will start to get annoying or not after a while.

I love the way lights can bring a certain "pop" to a set up. But I also don't want to be replacing my fans after a few weeks. I realize this is all based on preference but I still want to hear what others think. It just may influence my decision. :spamafote:

Solution
This is the one I built for my son , White with White LED's.
Corsair AF White LED fans.

I keep my computer in my bedroom, so led fans got to me the first time I tried to leave the computer running overnight. I was using the fans that came with the Antec 900 case, and I had to arrange one or two chairs so the fan leds weren't shining right in my eyes. I don't see much point in them to begin with - I expect to be focusing on what's showing on my monitor, not lighting effects in my case.

When it comes to corsair fans I'd probably avoid the led versions personally. The specs are typically a bit better for the original non led versions and the 'plain' versions have a bit nicer bearings in them. The non led use 'advanced hydraulic' bearings according to corsair while the led models use less expensive rifle bearings.

As far as looks go, that's personal taste. I considered led fans but in the end chose to go with better quality non led fans and separate led lighting so I could control my fans/lighting independently. If I turn down my fans I can still have bright case lighting, if I turn up my fan speeds I can dim or turn my case lighting off completely. The light output isn't dependent on fan speed and doesn't grow brighter/dimmer with the speed of the fans. It is a different look though than just light emitted from the fans themselves.

There's also differences in how the fans light up, fans like the corsairs have the lighting in the frame creating bands of light around the fan blades. Some like the thermaltake riing have a glowing ring around the fan instead of the blades lighting up. The coolermaster jetflo's have center lighting from the hub which causes the blades to glow more evenly without the spotlight effect but the trade off is noise and high airflow as well as 120mm size restrictions (they don't come in 140mm).

Again just my personal taste, most of the time I run my pc with the case lighting off. It's nice to be able run it pretty much blacked out since my case window is tinted. Sometimes I enjoy the led's, other times not so much. I definitely don't run with any of the effects on like the rainbow, breathing, flashing etc. I tried it out to experience the novelty of it when I first installed them but it wasn't a selling point for me in the first place. Some people don't like led's at all, some people like all the effects and others can find a happy medium where led's can be subdued with a 'less is more' approach. Usually I use white with a black/gray themed case but sometimes I'll use another color mixed with white.
