Hello everyone, I bought cooler master hyper 212 ego, and I just wanted to know how do I need to apply thermal paste ?

Some people say draw an X with thermal paste, a small X

And some people say that I need to put a small dot,and I am not sure if I need to touch it or do anything with it cause it won't cover the whole CPU..

Sorry for bothering, I have been asking a lot of questions this week but I am going to upgrade my PC.. that's why :(

thanks again

Any method works as long as the paste is of really good quality linus did a video a while back an basically all methods none was better than the other.

I am going to use cooler master hyper 212 ego thermal paste, ( cm's thermal paste ) it's good so I don't have to worry about it right ?

And I'd I put More or less, will anything bad. Happen ?

Thanks for your answer tho

If you put too much, it will run over the edge of the processor and potentially make a mess. Most thermal pastes aren't conductive, but some are capacitive, so you really don't want to risk getting it into the CPU socket where you'll never be able to get it out.

I've found that a bit of paste around the size of a large cooked grain of rice is plenty. You don't need to cover the entire heatspreader, as the core underneath it is much smaller.

So I have to put only a small dot on the center and put the CPU cooler on it, I don't need to spread it or do anything like this, right ?

Thank you for your help guys, much appreciated :3
