First before someone blasts me, I understand that the 1060 does not support SLI.

What I am asking is has anyone tried to use one 1060 as Primary and second 1060 as a dedicated Phys X card? Would that offloaded performance work better than a single GTX 1070 in Phys X enabled games?

Essentially they found one game where the dedicated PhysX card made a significant difference and yes, the 750ti was the sweet spot in that it was the cheapest card that was still fast enough for the PhysX duties without holding back the primary GPU. So if you have a 750ti lying around and can't be bothered selling it, by all means chuck it in for the odd game that will use it.

If you have to buy one though, don't bother. You'd be approaching 1080 costs at that point which would be a...
No way. PhysX is only available in a few games, so that second 1060 would be sitting idle in the majority of titles. Plus, even when present, it won't even start to push a 1060. The gap between the 1060 & 1070 is pretty big, far, far better to get the 1070. A PhysX won't reduce a 1070 to anywhere like 1060 performance levels.

So would a 1070 and something like a 750 Ti make more sense? I figured the card would be to slow to keep up with a 1070. I may have a spare 750 ti laying around.
