Hi, im gona try to explane this as good as I can:

Setup:

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Tower ATX

Disc: WD Green 1TB

Processor: i7 4790k (not overclocked)

Motherboard z97-a socket1150

GPU: geforce GTX1070

Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M CPU Liquid Cooler

So, I installed the cooler yesterday since my temps where way to high(90-100 Celcius) with the cooler that comes with the processor.

After the installation i got a idle temp of 34-40 degress celsius and i think about 50-60 when playing utlra in Battlefield 1.

At 100% load it was about 78-79-80 degress Celius.

Howerver, when streaming games with this setup, for example overwatch game, i get about 69-70 degress celsius when just playing the game with stream program(obs). I mean, i should be able to stream with this setup, easy. And when not streaming i should have a better temp correct?

I talked to a friend who has the same type of cooler but with only one fan, and hes up like 50-55 when playing a game while streaming it.

Now, this is the video i followed to install the coolermaster:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U72E2HBaLM

I also applied as much paste as he did in the video.

Im not satisfied with the results. I see people with the same setup but with only like 25-30 degress celsius on idle and 40-50 on load when playing games.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will try to reinstall computer and update all the drivers to it latest today when i get home from work.
I do not have a cd so i will haft to download all the drivers.
What operating system is the best for this setup or for playing game according to you guys?

Im not really satisfied with the results please help?

I would always say that it is better to have just as many input and output fans. I would try, getting a couple of 120mm fans that are quiet and push a lot of air, and see if that works. There are a couple of cheapers ones that are good for the price, at around £7 each or something.

With no fan pulling air in, it is relying on passive cooling basically, where the air just naturally flows in. Which would...

First off, it depends on the air flow in your case, and the ambient temperature (Room temp) which will affect it.

You probably already know, but 70c is definitely in the safezone for a CPU, so no need to worry about that. Only start to worry if it gets well over 80c.

Room temp is about 21 C.
I really think there is a problem here. it should idle way lower + lower temp when load.
In the case i think i have only one fan on backpanel + the 2 fans on the new cooler.
There could be a find on the front panel to, but im not sure, Im iat work so i cant realyl check that out now.

Oh alright. Have you tried bumping the Radiator Fans speed up? Or how many internal case fans do you have? As you could always have more pushing in cooler air, and that will help the cooling.

I almost have it like in this link except for the front fan(blue arrows).

http://cdn.overclock.net/a/ae/500x1000px-LL-ae9e5e49_abbZM5l.jpeg

So i have one fan blowing out the air in the back, and then there is the cooler fans pushing from the inside out like in the picture.
Could that be the problem? No fan taking air from the outside in?

Also, with my case, where do i put the fans to take in air, best possible place????

With no fan pulling air in, it is relying on passive cooling basically, where the air just naturally flows in. Which would mean higher temperatures inside the case as there's no fresh air being pulled in, just passively.

So what you are saying is that i should buy some fans taking in air from the outside of the case? Where would they fit in my case?(Fractal Design Define R4 Tower ATX)

EDIT: good picture of inside the case. this is how it looks

Mabye i could add fans like this:

I dont have these fans in my case.

I believe, you can add fans at the front of the case? Does it pull off? There may be room for one or 2 120mm fans there, you can fit them to the top of the case as well, and you already have an exhaust fan. So I cant see them images but if they blow like 50+ CFM then they will be pretty good fans.

Take a look at that and it will explain the locations.

On top of the case is not possible, since i have my liquid cooler inside in the top. I cant really have two fans sitting on top of the case spining. It would be better to keep everything inside the case :D

Here are the images:

I think i only have the rear fan as of now. So a total of 3 fans with liquid cooling system, that must be the problem.

Reading up on the website, it apparently has one in the front.

But I guess it is worth a try to get a fan in every location possible, more air input and output, better cooling. So try 2 intake fans at the front, and if possible the bottom, and the exhaust fans as they are.

Ok will come back with an answer tonight! Hope this helps alot. I dont really see how 2 fans can help with cooling so much, but we will see about that.
Will buy 2x noctua 120 today and try them out set to push air in from the outside.
I will then let the cooler + back panel fan push it allt out.

Hello again.

So I bought a Neptune fan.
The temp went down a bit cause i didnt know there was a front panel fan. This fan was not cleaned in over 2 years(you can imagine how it looks.
Now I have 2 front panel fans sucking in air, 1 fan sucking out air in the back panel and two fans in the cooler.
The temp is better but after playing for a while, at 30-40 load, the temp is about 80 degress C.
I cant believe it. I dont know why this is hapening.
Im going to try to remove the thermal paste today and add new, check the plate so that the cooler is correct placed.
Any other suggestions?

Solved the problem!
So i bought one new fan.
What i did was:

Moved the new fan to the side of the case. Now i have 2 fans taking in air and two fans pushing it out.
The main reason why the temp was so high was the thermal paste and the motherboard drivers

I applied the paste wrong and to little of it.
If you do have the z97 motherborad make sure you update it for your processor.

Now I idle 26 c and heavy load 50 c
Thank you very much for all the help xfeardoom
