A few days ago my screen froze and the PC shut down. When I power it on again, it will turn on for a few seconds(fans and lights on) but will not POST, and then power itself off. This will keep repeating till I manually turn the power off. So I tried to find the faulty component by switching each out at a time. It finally POSTed after I removed the graphics card and used the onboard graphics.

Now that I've finally opened up the PC, I didn't get internet. Ethernet cable was connected but the yellow light wasn't blinking. The router says it's connected. I tried two different cables and made sure it's not the issue by testing it on another PC. When I tried to install the ethernet driver, it gave an error saying ethernet controller not found. Device manager doesn't show it either http://puu.sh/qYuV9/a9c98415a9.png

Then I removed and reinserted the CMOS battery and restored BIOS settings to default. Ethernet controller was shown to be enabled in BIOS. Still no ethernet connection.

My motherboard is a MSI H61M-P31/W8
