Hi guys, need some help on trying to figure out why my friends PC fried. So here's a quick (looooong ) story. Custom build PC with all round water cooled system ( CPU, GPU, RAMS ). We build that PC ~3 years ago and it was running without problems since then, until the liquid reservoir cap was broken and PSU ( maybe MOBO also? ) was damaged by it. He delivered that PC to workshop and explained what happen, technician promise to do complete hardware check to identified if there was any other damages apart PSU. After 2 weeks he got his PC back with new PSU, they did (?) multiple test's and everything else is working as it should. Now he starts using that gaming rig and finds out that performance is far below from it's previous stats. CPU and GPU benchmarks was giving 20-35% lower scores, also PC started restarting it self in the middle of gaming sessions. Now 3 weeks after he got it back it fried. It just turned off and when he turned it back smoke came out from Titan GPU ... He drove it back to workshop where he been told that parts like CPU, GPU, water pump and Most likely RAM's is dead. They can't say why it happened, neither they taking responsibility for it. They saying most likely it's water pump to blame for overheated parts, but can it be true? Can all parts just burn down, without MOBO turning system down to avoid damage? Also while PC was working the temps were stable even after playing for 3 hours non stop BF1 or other games on max settings.
Update : When they changed PSU they installed it with fans facing down. Can it be that the filter underneath case is so dusty, that PSU overheated it self and burned all the system down? PSU he got is Corsair 1200w.
