OK so I know that there are a couple of posts regarding the here but none matched what was happening with my build. So I have a msi 970 gaming board. 8 go ram hyperx . Amd fx 6300 and nvidia 730. I assembled it yesterday night without the cmos battery. It got damaged. Anyway it booted up once indicating that hdd and optical drive were connected and keyboard mice were not. I shut it down and since then no boot. No display. It gets power the fans run but no display.

Solution
Without a CMOS battery, there will be no Post/No boot/Nothing.
Grab a new one for about $4 CR2032.

The MB capacitor would have retained enough energy to boot once until drained.
